Hi, I'm "Rev. Michael M. Knauff" but most people just call me "Pastor Mike."  My childhood years were spent in the "hamlet" of Townline, New York on the outskirts of Buffalo, NY.  I grew up a "PK" (preacher's kid) as my dad was the pastor of the Lutheran church in Townline, NY. After graduating from High School I went out of state to earn a Bachelors degree from Capital University in Columbus, OH.  I then enrolled in Trinity Seminary, Columbus, OH where I earned my Master's of Divinity.

Over the past thirty years I have  served two different Lutheran church bodies (the ELCA and LCMC) and four different congregations:  Zion Lutheran, Frewsburg, NY; Lord of Life Lutheran, Fairfax, VA; Faith Lutheran, Castle Rock, CO; and since July of 2013 Greenford Lutheran, Greenford, OH.

My wife, Debbie, and I have been married for 35 years and together have three grown sons: Adam, Stephen, and Caleb. They've been blessed to find wonderful life partners and we've enjoyed the blessing of having daughters (in-law) added to our family!

I love my schizophrenic Pandora stations (from secular to sacred or classic rock to modern country) and really enjoy singing and playing guitar.  As I age I enjoy more sports vicariously but still manage to stay active by jogging and being active on our five acre property by making maple syrup, gardening, and general lawn care. I like to keep my mind active by doing the Vindicator's daily Sudoku puzzle.

My greatest joy in ministry is when God can use me to strengthen folks' faith walk with Christ.

YOUTH DIRECTOR:  Matthew Crutchfield

Hi!  I am originally from Columbia, SC where I graduated from Columbia International University with a Bachelor of Arts in the Humanities. I moved up to Ambridge, PA, about 5 years ago to attend Trinity School for Ministry for my Masters of Arts of Religion with an Emphasis in Theology. I have three siblings and my parents still live in Columba, SC.

I have been fortunate to have a lot of experience in youth ministry both as a student and as a leader. I have served as a volunteer youth leader for several years in South Carolina, a camp counselor at Honeyrock camp located in Wisconsin, and as a volunteer in Pittsburgh. One of my joys in youth ministry is witnessing young adults experience the beauty and truth of the Christian faith and how the Faith clarifies and enriches every part of our lives. Theology forms the basis for understanding our relation to God and, thereby, our relationship with others. I strongly believe that good theology is one we can experience and enjoy!

I am currently living in Ambridge, PA, (with my cat, Tommy, seen in the picture above) where I enjoy reading, writing, hiking, and learning/competing in Brazilian jiujitsu.

In March I celebrated my 1st anniversary serving as Greenford Lutheran’s Secretary.  I enjoy the work immensely, creating bulletins, newsletters and other documents, and the best part of the job is greeting and getting to know the members and others that stop into the church.

I have three children: a son who lives in Idaho and he has 5 children and is an RN and works in an ICU in Boise.  A daughter who lives in Columbiana and is developmentally delayed, she works at EDI Central workshop and lives in a group home.  My third child, a son, lives in Youngstown and has 2 children and is the Director of Bands at Struthers Schools.

I was born and raised a conservative Quaker and still attend the Quaker Meeting on 6th Street in Salem.  I graduated from a Quaker Boarding School in southern Ohio.  After High School I began my working career as a secretary in an International Center in Washington DC.  I have worked as a secretary, almost all the time since graduation.  I did take a small amount of time off to have my children!  Although part of that time I was the secretary for my husband’s business.

My free time is spent in making quilts, knitting hats, reading and I serve on 2 boards!  One is the EDI (Employment Development Inc.) which runs the sheltered workshops in Columbiana county and the other one is One Step Forward, which is the housing corporation for handicapped individuals in Columbiana County.
